Gentian

(Gentiana amarella)

Gentian is a biennial plant that grows in calcareous and dry floors of pastures and hills. During the first year, only a rosette blooms and in the second year, a solid stem with lanceolate leaves grows and many flower blooms. Gentian opens its little trumpet-shaped flowers by the end of summer and in autumn, from August to October.
