Venus Flytrap

(Dionaea muscipula)

This carnivorous plant occurs naturally in the United States, North and South Carolina, in the savannah plains. It grows in moist soils that can go through dry periods, usually surrounded by other carnivorous plants. The genus Dioné contains only the species Dionaea muscipula. Dione is the Greek mother deity of Aphrodite, which corresponds to the Roman Venus, the goddess of beauty.

Effect of the elixir: When we feel trapped in situations whose outcome we cannot see, this elixir helps us to step back and see the relativity of circumstances.

On the physical level: When blocked situations manifest on the physical level, this elixir gives us the strength to "take off" so that we can find a new, free and more serene path.

On the emotional level: When we are caught in emotions that swirl around and make us go in circles, this elixir enables us to refocus, find our base and act accordingly. We can take a step back. By regaining a solid foundation, we can imagine a way out that would otherwise remain inaccessible to us.

On the mental level: If we are stuck in thoughts like on a situation and remain blocked, the elixir helps us to find the necessary distance there as well. Thanks to a new understanding that enables us to see the relativity of circumstances, we will be able to explore new questions that are more appropriate to the situation.

On the spiritual level: through its connection to the earth, to matter and its "elevation" that allows us to consider other points of view, this elixir allows us both to rest a solid base and from there to find the rise and fall that is a freer spiritual life. By being more aware of the relativity of things and circumstances, we naturally borrow more from compassion and tolerance, both towards ourselves and others.
